appraisal process

About Our Appraisal Process
The Red Stick Glass Interiors
appraisal process makes use of a vast
amount of expert knowledge of the work of each artist we represent and
an in-depth knowledge of the market, both public and private. Red Stick
Glass' reputation and that of the artists themselves depends upon our
ability to make aesthetic and economic judgments about works of art that
we resell, and better yet, our appraisals are fast, reliable and
economical.
Red Stick provides art appraisal documentation, in written form, that
includes item/artist description, place of origin, and auction records
for the artist (if any), general assessment of authenticity, quality,
condition and a range between fair market price and Gallery value.
Even though we utilize the services of an Italian Company, we strive to
adhere to the guidelines and standards of the American Society of
Appraisers, the American Appraisers Association, the American Society Of
Certified Appraisers and all major appraisers associations the best that
can. The codes and ethics of these associations are strictly applied to
our services, even if we want to stay independent of them.
With an art appraisal we provide, a short biography of the artist,
comment on the piece, an auction record of the piece (if available), a
gallery value and/or fair market value of the piece.
Red Stick Glass places a high value on integrity and the inventory of
art glass we provide. In order to validate the stated Gallery value of
each piece we offer, Red Stick Glass utilizes the services of Harlequin
Fine Art Glass of Venice.
Through an exclusive agreement with Red Stick Glass Interiors, each
piece of art glass purchased by us is evaluated by the Founder and
Managing Director of Harlequin before it is shipped
to America for us to resell. *
Qualified glass appraisers usually charge in the hundreds or thousands
of dollars, depending on specifics of a piece. Our rates are very
competitive in the art glass world. Per our exclusive agreement with
Harlequin, Red Stick charges $105.00 per written appraisal. (This is a
non-refundable fee due to the fact the we pay for the appraisal at the
request of the winning bidder. The $105.00 fee is our cost, so again,
once it is paid, it will not be reimbursed by Harlequin.)
