To understand the
mindset of his "fusions in glass", one must understand the double
motivation that drives Loris Andrea Vianello; 1) His passion to keep
the tradition of art glass moving forward, while extending his
perception of art glass far beyond those traditional ways, and 2)
His many lived experience that are prevalent in every single piece
he creates.
Vianello has always had a restless spirit about him, almost in
continuous "pulsation" if you will, as he points out, "I must
confess to have tried to stay completely true to the traditions of
the many generations that have passed down to my fellow artisans
and I, but my own tangled emotions of the complex techniques in
glass had to be displayed, and displayed in a way that exposed who I
am, and this is how I create each fusions of glass piece."
One of the aspects of the creative process of Vianello that
succeeds, is the spirit experience he uses, insatiable as it may be,
he carefully surveys the "bizarre" and the stimulating adoptable
technical solutions and transposes those "spirit experiences" with
the aid of the glass.
The model of society is also a key component of Vianello's work, in which he looks at each piece similar to that of an individual in society, as he sees them in a reassuring, yet democratically liberated atmosphere, or as he puts it, "society as a whole in basically one global homogination that inexplicably stretches to crush, to isolate, and to exclude, every obvious shape of individuality, in favor of a transparent being that tends to conform their tastes and needs in order to limit the exposure of societal differentiation".
The Art of Vianello, manifesting itself through extensive soul-searching and the experimentation of life. From the great artistic hand-craft tradition of art glass that the earth had given us, Loris Andrea Vianello has drawn into himself to create a new extension of this art, one that is not only technically in nature, but one that inspires as well.
The creation of these pieces begins of curse with colored powders, "murrine", barrette filiform and poliformi fragments of glass from the rich values chromium plated to him. This is then formed into a fused mass of glass that he then wraps various elements of life, thus determining the configuration of compositions separated from the unforeseeable characteristics that lead us in one general atmosphere of "gradevole" and stimulant lightness.
From the formal point of view, the compositions of Vianello dip to us in an amplitude atmosphere, in which most colorful fragmentations, also symbolically ludiche, seem to find their positioning through floatation, rising to a point that eventually induces movement, thus becoming alive.
